Belfast Boy, Brave Daire’s With a genetic Rare Condition..But Keeps on Smiling!

With a rare condition this Boy Gives an Inspirational Message  to us! Born since the day, the doctors told his parents that he wouldn’t be alive more than 2 days. As he entered the world the boy suffered with Apert syndrome and couldn’t breathe properly. 

At the mere age of 5, Brave Daire has been operated more than 20 times. After so many operations we could have raised our hands just like a normal people, but this brave boy still smiles in front of everyone in spite of having this severe problem.

His mom calls him “modern Day superman”. Wow! Seriously he is a superman  facing so many problems happily at such a young age. This rare condition affects 1 out of 150,000 people. Unlike other new born who are born with the delicate skin and soft body parts, Daire’s skull was fused as a result his brain was crushed. He also suffers from breathing difficulties. Daire learnt speaking with the help of Makaton (an instrument which helps patient with a mixture of symbols and signs to help them verbally.)

Last year Doctors performed a very crucial operation which involved Brave Daire’s facial bones to pull to the middle part of the face forward by 2-3 cms so that he could breathe naturally.

Following the operation doctors passed this happy news to his family that he had no longer breathing problems (no se of artificial airway) and he can now grow naturally.
