This photoshoot of a bride with cancer is inspiring everyone to be real and to be confident in their skin. She is encouraging women to break the stereotypes and to embrace themselves. Be BOLD and BEAUTIFUL!
Once again the social media and the internet have shown their power of spreading messages to the entire world. A few days back, a man from Arizona posted the before (a picture with the littered area) and after (a picture with a clean ground with nine trash bag) picture on social media and challenged everyone to participate in the #TrashTagChallenge. The picture went viral, and thousands of people from across the globe accepted the challenge and contributed to the environment.
This time, social media is inspiring the individuals and especially the women to realize how bold and beautiful they are. Do you want to know how? Read below.
How would I look as a bride is a question that most women ask themselves? When people look out for the best wedding cards and extraordinary things to make a wedding memorable to guests as well, here is a lady whose bridal photoshoot became an inspiration to many.
Vaishnavi Poovanedran or Navi Indran Pillai, a breast cancer survivor’s photo-shoot took the social media by storm after she posted her bridal pictures on the internet. A Malaysian of Indian descent spoke how cancer today has affected many women lives and how they avoid being photographed (due to baldness).
She wrote in one of her posts -
“Cancer treatments have given us a lot of limitations, robbed us of beauty and taken away our confidence. As little girls, we have always dreamt of what our big day will be like and how we would look like as a bride.”
She further wrote -
“But having cancer has stripped some of us from fulfilling these dreams. A lot of cancer survivors have postponed or even cancelled their big day.”
Diseases like fever and typhoid can be treated, but cancer not only shatters the person but also gives immense pain in the treatments that are followed. You will be inspired by Vaishnavi, even more, when you will know that she has fought with cancer twice.
She was diagnosed with third stage breast cancer when she was only 22 (in 2013). But after several sessions of chemotherapy, she was declared cancer-free in 2015. Unfortunately, in 2018, she was again diagnosed with cancer.
Just like any other girl, she also dreamt of dressing up as a bride, marrying her love, and how she would feel on her D-day. Unfortunately, she diagnosed with cancer, and chemotherapy and several treatments made her bald. She was depressed but did the photo shoot to let every woman know that no matter what you are going through, you are beautiful.
Instead of feeling sorry and depressed, she became an inspiration to all those diagnosed with cancer and other severe diseases.
She said -
"For me, as a cancer survivor, I dreamt the day I marry the love of my life. Dreamt, what it is like to look like a bride, to feel like a bride. Having gone through cancer treatments (chemotherapy, etc.), losing my hair was by far the hardest thing I ever had to go through. I felt that I was not beautiful."
She also urged people to let go of negativity and to fight through difficult situations in life.
She wrote-
“There will be haters and doubters and then there will be you proving them wrong."
Vaishnavi in red and bottle green saree with bridal baubles looks gorgeous. The bold lips and a mathapatti on her scarcely-haired head is giving a new definition to a bridal looks. She completed her bridal look with Mehendi and red bindi. We are smitten with her confidence and grace, are you?
Do you want to know who clicked these beautiful pictures? The pictures were clicked by Celes Gerard. Vaishnavi told him that she wants to portray herself as a bride dealing with cancer and to set an example to the world that life still can go on if you put your heart to it.
He wrote -
“She told me her idea was to portray herself as a bride, but has got loads of complications to deal with, and this bride is going to be an example, that life still can go on if you put your heart to it. This bride, made the whole concept effortless for me!"
The photoshoot is receiving a positive response from the audience and inspiring everyone that dealing with cancer is not that tough if you are confident enough to tackle all the pain.
Beautiful jewelry, stunning wedding attire, makeup, and gorgeous hairstyle are the things what bride to always dream of, but this bridal photoshoot stands out all.
