Tortoise sex may sound humorous for those experiencing rough patches in their dating lives but this is an actual story of a tortoise named Diego that has been narrated by the scientists. Not only he is horny but also a hero who has saved his species from getting extinct.
Diego belonged to a very rare species of tortoise, Chelonoidis hoodensis. The species is a native of Hispanola Island in the Galapagos. Their species consisted of only 2 males and 23 females.
Diego had fathered 40% of the population. When scientists came to know about this, they entered him in a breeding program expecting repopulation of the dying species by Diego.
And he was the perfect one to be chosen for this.
Diego fathered 800 tortoises all thanks to the program, thereby saving his species from extinction. Diego now lives on Santa Cruz Island with his six girlfriends. He continues to mate with them to strengthen their population.
The present-day ocean is certainly a scary place where giant sharks, whales, squids, barracuda, and numerous other marine creatures live.
