11 Tried-and-Tested Home Remedies for Removing Moles Naturally

Moles, either originated at birth or caused by hormonal imbalance, are embarrassing and even painful at times. Many times, the overall look of the face starts to lose its charm because of even a single mole if it is on the face.

Moles, which are also called melanocytic naevi in the medical term, are generally non-cancerous (benign) skin lesions that may appear anywhere on the body. They may be dark brown or black.

Though some of the moles may be harmful to remove, here are some tried and tested home remedies to remove a mole.

1. Onion Juice

Onion juice can prove effective in mole removal. It is a great painless home remedy, and the natural acids present in it would make the mole fall off within a few days. Unless you are allergic to onion, it is safe to use.   

Now take off the onion peels, cut into small cubes, and then grate it to extract the juice. Now put this freshly extracted juice using a q-tip directly onto the mole. Now leave it for an hour and wash it with water. Do it regularly 2-3 times a day to remove moles from your body. 

2. Banana Peels

The banana peels contain particular enzymes and acids that can help remove the mole. It contains natural enzymes and acids that help in removing unwanted moles.

Secure it in place using tape or bandage and leave overnight. Repeat it until the mole goes away. Another potential benefit is that it can be used as a moisturizer.  

3. Honey 

A mixture of raw honey, flaxseed powder, and oil is a great and cheap home remedy for the removal of moles. Honey is often used for various skin issues due to its antioxidant, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties and emollient nature.  

Cover it with a bandage, leave it for an hour, remove the bandage, and then wash it using water. Repeat this many times a day, and use a fresh piece of bandage each time.  

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known as the king of home remedies. The acidity (malic and tartaric acids) in the vinegar dissolves or dries up the mole, scab formation occurs, and it eventually disappears. Apply it using a cotton pad, leave it for an hour, and repeat it for two weeks every day. 

5. Coriander 

Coriander leaves have astringent properties that make the moles fall off soon. They initially appear to be cooling on topical application but later become hot for the skin. 

Grind coriander leaves to make a paste, apply it over the mole, allow it to sit for 10 minutes, wash with water, and repeat it for two weeks until any changes are seen.  

6. Baking Soda with Castor Oil

The castor oil and baking soda’s mixture helps in removing moles through the natural method. While baking soda dries up the mole, castor oil heals them. It doesn’t let the mole leave behind any scars. 

Apply its mixture on the mole, leave it overnight, wash it off, and repeat it every day until it gets better. It might cause temporary redness and inflammation in the skin. 

7. Garlic 

Garlic is a healing herb containing a natural enzyme that helps dissolve cell clusters causing a mole and also reduces skin pigmentation. Garlic’s continual usage can give quick results. It is very warm and can help remove or burn moles. 

Make a paste of garlic cloves by crushing it. Applying it can result in scab formation and make the mole fall off and eventually disappear. Make sure you don’t touch scab with hands. Repeat this regularly multiple times for three weeks. 

8. Potato

Potato has natural bleaching compounds that help lighten and then eventually fade the mole. A slice of potato should be rubbed for a few minutes on the mole. Let it stay for 4-7 days and repeat the process twice every day. And when the potato decomposes, the mole would go away. Use it twice every day to get rid of it.  

9. Tea tree oil 

Tea tree oil has been used for centuries to treat skin issues. The moles heal due to its astringent properties. It does not cause any side effects like burning or scarring. Dipped in a few drops of tea tree oil: the cotton swab should be used on the mole and its surrounding area. Repeat this process a couple of weeks for 2-3 times every day.  

10. Pineapple

Pineapple contains high levels of citric acid that helps dissolve the mole. A crushed piece of pineapple or its juice can be used and rubbed over the mole for a few minutes. Then wash it with water. Repeat it a couple of times every day. 

11. Aloe Vera Gel

A natural soothing & healing agent, Aloe vera has polysaccharides, tannins, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals that are great for skin health. Clean the skin surface where the mole is present and apply the aloe vera gel. Repeat it twice every day. It takes time to show results but does work.
